Our first official meet of the summer will be this Saturday in Spanish Fork. Warm ups will be at 6:30 AM and will last about a half an hour. The goal for the meet is to be done by noon so if everyone is there on time and ready to start I am more than sure we can meet that. Swimmers will need to dress warm since it is an outdoor pool but keep in mind that when the sun does come up it can and might get a little toasty depending on the weather.
Once you get to the pool you need to pick up your cards. Your cards will be with one of the parents on the parent committee and usually have a crowd of swimmers around them- if you are not sure where to find them just ask one of the coaches. Once you get your cards look over them and make sure all the information is correct. If you need any changes or have any concerns PLEASE find your coach and they will help you get things straightened out. Next check in with your coach so we know you are there and ready to go.
Relays are usually held at the beginning and the end of the meet, however, it is up to the Home team to decide this. Regardless of when the relays are held, the swimmers need to let the coach know if they want to be in a relay. Swimmers can't be in a relay unless we know they are there and willing to do one. SO PLEASE FIND YOUR COACH AND TELL THEM!!!
Swimmers will need to notify their coach if they will or will not be attending this meet no later than Thursday at practice. Coaches will assign your child their events to swim as well as ask them for their input. Remember the goal is to have all swimmers swim every event at least once.
**Something else to remember- at the first year swim meet last Saturday there were no disqualifications for any swimmers. Swimmers were however, told what they would have been disqualified for had it been a regular meet. At this meet and the rest of the meets this summer all the regular rules will apply to their races. **
