The practice meet is this Saturday, June 11. 7:30 warm-ups. 8:00 start.
This is a great opportunity for you and your swimmer to learn how meets will be run this year. All swimmers are invited to participate.
When you come to the meet, visit the check-in table and get the slip of paper that tells the swimmer their event numbers, heat, and lane assignments. Find a great spot to keep all your stuff--remember food and families belong in the observation deck; swimmers and volunteers can be down on the pool deck. Watch the numbers on the wall behind the bleachers to know what events are being called to the bullpen. The bullpen (the bleachers) is where the swimmers are organized into groups of 8 for the races. When reporting to the bullpen, swimmers should only bring themself and their goggles (no towel, food, friends, etc.)
If you want your child to swim at the practice meet, you should have signed them up for events when you were at the mandatory parent meeting this morning. If you had an emergency and could not come to the parent meeting, you can sign-up your child TODAY ONLY (Thursday) on the Lehi Flyers Bulletin Board next to the lap pool in the Legacy Center. If you (the parent) do not sign-up your child for this meet, they will not be able to swim at this meet. For future meets, you (the parent) must visit the bulletin board and sign-up your swimmer for events by the Wednesday before the meet. Please do not sign-up for events if you will not be at the meet.
Ribbons (other than heat winner) will not be awarded for the practice meet. Times from the practice meet will not count as qualifying times for county or for the team trophy.
